The work centers on small, low-voltage (12V DC) multi-channel relay-control boards — schematic capture, PCB layout, and help moving prototypes through fabrication and assembly. Boards are compact and enclosure-mounted, with screw/pluggable terminal blocks for field wiring. We’re past proof-of-concept and moving from hand-wired prototypes to clean, manufacturable boards in small batches.

We’re a small U.S. hardware startup building a consumer smart-home product, and we’re looking for a skilled PCB design and prototype-fabrication specialist to work with us part-time on an ongoing basis.

What you’d do:
• Schematic capture and PCB layout (KiCad, Altium, or Eagle — editable source files required)
• Design low-voltage DC relay switching, terminal-block I/O, status indication, and clean power distribution
• Generate manufacturing outputs (Gerbers, BOM, pick-and-place) and help us order through fab/assembly houses (JLCPCB, PCBWay, MacroFab, etc.)
• Iterate on prototypes — bring-up, troubleshooting, and refinement for small-batch production
• Advise on component selection, sourcing, and design-for-manufacture
Required:
• Demonstrated PCB design experience — please share a portfolio or example boards
• Comfortable with low-voltage DC power and relay/control circuits
• Fluent in a mainstream EDA tool and able to hand over editable source files
• Clear communicator, reliable on a part-time cadence
