Large Single-Layer PCB Design
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m getting ready to spin up a prototype and need an experienced PCB designer to turn my schematic into a clean, single-layer board that will end up larger than 10 cm × 10 cm. I’ll provide the circuit diagram along with a few placement preferences; from there you’ll handle footprint selection, component placement, manual or auto-routing (whichever gives the most reliable results on a single copper layer), and all the usual design-rule checks.
Because this is strictly for prototyping, I’m less worried about space savings and more concerned with trace clarity, manufacturability, and easy debugging. Standard through-hole parts dominate the BOM, but a couple of SMD footprints may appear—nothing exotic. If you normally work in KiCad, Altium Designer, or Eagle, that’s perfect; just let me know which platform you prefer so we can stay compatible.
Deliverables I’m expecting:
• Finished editable project file in your chosen CAD tool
• Production-ready Gerber, drill, and pick-and-place files
• PDF schematic and assembly drawings for reference
• A concise BOM with manufacturer part numbers
The design should pass all built-in DRCs at common fabrication specs (1 oz copper, 6/6 mil rules are fine). Once I receive the files I’ll send them straight to JLCPCB for a quick run, so please keep their standard stack-up in mind.
If you have questions about trace widths, grounding strategy, or hole sizing, just ask before routing so we don’t lose time on revisions. Looking forward to seeing your layout skills in action!
