Automotive PCB Design Review – ESP32, I2C, LM393, MCP23017 (12/24V System)

I am looking for an experienced electronics engineer to review a completed schematic for an automotive project before moving to PCB layout.

The system is designed for use in a vehicle (12V/24V environment) and consists of multiple interconnected modules.

The design includes:

ESP32-based control system
I2C communication between modules
MCP23017 I/O expander
LM393 comparators for sensing 12V/24V signals
Input protection (TVS diodes, resistor dividers, filtering)
RJ45 connectors used for inter-module communication
Indicator LEDs (including I2C activity via transistor drivers)
What I Need

A detailed schematic review to:

Verify all circuits function as intended
Check component values and design choices
Identify any design flaws or risks (especially automotive-related)
Confirm correct interfacing between:
12V/24V signals and 3.3V logic
ESP32 and MCP23017
I2C bus design and loading
Review grounding and power distribution
Check transistor and LED circuits
Suggest improvements where appropriate

Experience Required
Strong analogue and digital electronics knowledge
Experience with automotive electronics (important)
Familiarity with:
ESP32
I2C systems
Signal conditioning (comparators, dividers, protection)
Low-voltage logic interfacing
Deliverables
Annotated schematic (or written report)
Clear list of issues (if any)
Suggested corrections/improvements
