I need an e-commerce site built from the ground up where shoppers can quickly locate what they want through a powerful product-search feature. The catalogue may start modestly, but the search must scale smoothly as the inventory grows and remain lightning-fast on both desktop and mobile.
Key goals
• Clean, responsive storefront built with a modern stack you are comfortable with (React, Vue, Next.js, Laravel, Django—your call, as long as performance is solid).
• Robust search bar that supports keyword matching, basic filtering, and smart suggestions. Leveraging Elasticsearch, Algolia, or a well-tuned database query is fine, provided results load instantly.
• Simple admin interface so I can add, edit, and retire products without touching code.
• SEO-friendly URLs and meta tags out of the box.
While a cart and payment gateway are not part of this phase, the architecture should leave room to bolt them on later without rewrites.
Acceptance criteria
– Visitors can enter a term, see relevant products, and click through to a product detail page.
– Search returns in under 500 ms for up to 10 k products.
– Admin panel updates reflect live on the site with no downtime.
Hand-over deliverables: source code in a private repo, brief setup guide, and a recorded walkthrough of the admin and search in action.
