Product Image Retouching for AI-Generated Packshots (Long-Term Collaboration)
Project Description
I am looking for a highly skilled retoucher to help refine AI-generated product images so they reach a fully realistic, production-ready quality.
The images are product packshots (protein puddings) generated with AI. The compositions generally work well, but several technical details need to be corrected and standardized so the final images match the real product packaging exactly.
This will be an ongoing collaboration, as we continuously produce new images throughout the year.
Scope of Work
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Packaging Corrections
Replace the AI-generated labels with the original label artwork so all text, typography, and product information is perfectly accurate.
Ensure the packaging matches the real 3D product model in:
color
proportions
label placement
typography
Fix distortions that commonly appear in AI-generated packaging.
2. Background Cleanup
Remove grain, noise, and AI artifacts.
Clean and smooth the background so it looks like a professional studio shot.
3. Barcode Removal
Remove any unintended barcodes or artifacts that sometimes appear on the packaging.
4. Background Color Consistency
Color match backgrounds so identical backgrounds always match the exact hex value.
Example: all brown backgrounds must be the exact same shade across all images.
Workflow Expectations
This project requires someone who is structured, efficient, and proactive.
I am not only looking for someone to manually retouch images one by one. Ideally you should also help optimize the workflow.
For example:
Either fully retouch each image individually
Or develop a more efficient system, such as cutting out the product and placing it into a clean, standardized background template.
The goal is to achieve consistent, high-quality results while keeping the workflow efficient.
Test Requirement
Before moving forward, I will require a small test.
I will provide:
A folder with a video where I explain exactly what needs to be done
A first batch of images to work on
All necessary assets, including:
product label prints
3D models
reference materials for the packaging
This test is important so I can evaluate:
attention to detail
realism of the retouching
workflow efficiency
Ideal Candidate
You should have:
Strong Photoshop compositing and retouching skills
Experience with product photography / packaging retouching
A strong eye for color accuracy and detail
The ability to build structured workflows
A proactive mindset — someone who suggests improvements, not just executes instructions.
Long-Term Opportunity
This is not a one-off project. If the collaboration works well, there will be continuous work throughout the year as we produce many new images.
