Japanese Data Annotation Support

Job ID: 40469360

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

Project MARS is a large-scale cultural data annotation initiative. Contributors review and annotate AI-generated responses to ensure they accurately reflect authentic Japanese cultural and personal values. Your work directly helps train Large Language Models such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude to respond in culturally appropriate ways.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Each session consists of two stages:

Stage 1 — Questionnaire Survey (~30 minutes)
- Complete three validated surveys covering your demographics, personal value priorities, and cultural identity

Stage 2 — Cultural Value Annotation (~150 minutes, minimum 10 annotation sets)
- Select culturally relevant topics reflecting current Japanese norms
- Articulate and rank 3–5 cultural value principles per topic
- Create, select, or refine value-related questions (all three types must be used in balanced proportion)
- Review and annotate AI-generated responses from both a cultural perspective (mainstream Japanese values) and a personal perspective (your own values)
- These two perspectives must be kept strictly and completely separate at all times

SESSION STRUCTURE:
- Minimum: 10 completed annotation sets within 2.5 hours
- Maximum session length: 3.5 hours (time beyond 3.5 hours is non-billable)
- Tasks are released on a first-come, first-served basis
- Platform: Value Compass Annotation Platform

PAY RATE & BILLING
- Rate: USD $10.00 per hour
- Pay cycle: 20th of each month to the 19th of the following month
- Payment issued 15 to 25 days after the end of month work completed in a given cycle. For example: 50 hours between 20th June and 19th July. Paymenrt released 15th to the 25th of August.
