Create AI Image Web App

We are building a web application that allows users to generate and edit images using AI. Users should be able to type prompts, generate images, and apply edits seamlessly. The project will use Next.js (React) for the frontend and backend, and integrate with BytePlus/Seedream AI APIs for image generation.

Requirements:
- Build a Next.js 14+ web app with React 18 and Tailwind CSS.
- Implement AI image generation and editing via API.
- Create frontend UI with prompt input, generate/edit buttons, and image display.
- Implement backend API routes to securely call the AI API using environment variables.
- Handle errors, loading states, and CORS issues.
- Ensure the project is easy to setup, run, and maintain.

Skills Needed:
- Strong JavaScript / React / Next.js knowledge.
- Experience with API integration (REST/JSON).
- Familiarity with environment variables and Node.js backend.
- Basic UI styling experience (Tailwind CSS preferred).

Deliverables:
- Fully functional AI image generation and editing web app.
- Working backend API routes calling the AI service.
- Responsive and clean UI for prompt input and image display.
- Instructions to set up and run the project locally.
