Bitmap Enhancement & Vector Creation: 'Smokey and The Bandit' Trailer Mural
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I have a file based on images taken from the 1970s movie "Smokey and the Bandit", being the mural on the sides of the Trailer.
This image was originally created for 1/25 scale , but lacks the clarity and detail I require ... and retains 'shadow lines' caused by the ribbing on the sides of the original full-size trailer.
The size of the 1/25 printed artwork should be 302mmW x 88.6mmH (without the outer black | gold | black border outline).
I require an image of the trailer artwork that has either been created or enhanced to:
(a) remove shadow lines
(b) improve the contrast, resolution and image quality
(c) suitable for scaling from 1/14-scale to 1/160-scale
(d) Version 1 = 48' Trailer (as per listed size)
Version 2 = 40' Trailer (same height, shorter length); and
Version 3 = 53' Trailer (same height, longer length).
NOTE: If researching online, please note that there are *many* images available of REPLICA trucks and trailers that are NOT exactly the same as the original trailer artwork. SOME are fairly good quality reproductions, but most are poorer-quality 'repros' that include significant errors.
Our final artwork needs to be as close as possible in overall appearance to the original.
The original truck was a 48' trailer, that - once enhanced - will require 'editing' for the 40' and 53' variants.
In both cases, the height / proportionality must be maintained unchanged.
-- the 40' variant will need to be "shortened" at suitable points left & right
to retain as much of the original artwork as possible
-- the 53' variant will require additional artwork to the left & right in like manner to the original
Requirements:
- Remove the outer black | gold | black outline
(this will subsequently be replaced by specific vector a/w)
- Enhance bitmap image for high-quality print (manually edit / AI edit / recreate / ???)
- Create vector artwork based on the enhanced image (?)
(This last item may or may not be required)
Ideal Skills and Experience:
-------------------------------------------
** Attention to detail **
- Design quality
- Proficiency in bitmap and vector graphics (CorelDraw, Illustrator, PhotoShop, etc)
- Experience with print-ready artwork (Decal artwork is a specialist area, and specific design
advice will be provided to the GA)
- Knowledgeable and Experienced use of AI vectorization, upscaler and image enhancement programs
is quite acceptable.
(I've tried a couple, but simply lack the time and experience to produce an acceptable output
if that is indeed possible!)
Desired Outcome
----------------------------
To enhance or recreate the original image such that it can be re-scaled and printed from 'very large' to 'quite small' (ie 1/14 to 1/160). The existing image is barely acceptable for 1/25, lacking clarity and detail.
(hey! It's taken from recordings of a movie that was produced 50 years ago, and not in HD!)
PLEASE NOTE:
-----------------------
I am happy to discuss the project requirements, details and suggested cost, to refine and/or update same as required. Price is an issue, but so is the final output.
