WordPress Developer + Automation | Long-Term Hourly | AI-Friendly | Remote

We are TechSprint, a growing digital agency managing multiple WordPress websites and custom digital projects.
We are looking for a reliable and motivated developer to join us on an hourly basis for long-term collaboration.

Our main activity is WordPress maintenance and development, but we also work on automation, hosting, integrations, and AI-driven tools.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, improving systems, and learning modern AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update multiple WordPress websites (3–4 active sites)

Fix bugs, plugin conflicts, layout issues, and performance problems

Secure websites (malware cleanup, backups, monitoring, hardening)

Improve speed and reliability

Manage hosting, DNS, and deployments when needed

Work with GitHub for code projects

Assist with automation and internal tools

Support future AI-driven projects and prototypes

First Projects

Fix and secure a WordPress site with functional and malware issues

Complete a 6-page website including integration of a custom AI tool

Complete another simple 4-page website

Maintain and optimize all active websites

Build a new transactional WordPress website

Later: help develop an AI-based application (cocktail recommendation system)

Required Skills

Strong WordPress experience (themes, plugins, debugging)

Basic PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Experience with hosting environments and migrations

GitHub usage

Security best practices

Performance optimization

Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.)

Good written English (French is a plus)

Long-term collaboration after a paid trial period

Flexible workload depending on projects

Some overlap with Quebec time zone preferred (flexible evenings)

Paid Test

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a paid test task.

Task:
Diagnose and fix issues on a real WordPress website including:

Broken menus and animations

Hidden content displaying incorrectly

Possible malware alerts

Performance degradation

Objectives:

Identify root causes

Restore normal functionality

Improve security and stability

Communicate findings clearly

This test evaluates real-world troubleshooting skills, methodology, and communication.
