Project Requirements
1. Core AI Voice Call Engine
Develop a FastAPI backend application exposing these endpoints:
/incoming (POST webhook handler for Telnyx call events)
/ws/audio (WebSocket for real-time audio streaming)
Implement call control logic to:
Answer incoming Telnyx calls automatically
Manage call lifecycle (answer, hangup, transfer) via Telnyx API
Integrate real-time Speech-to-Text (STT) API (Soniox or similar) for transcribing calls
Use OpenAI’s GPT API for conversational responses based on live call transcripts
Use Azure Cognitive Services Text-to-Speech (TTS) to convert AI responses to audio
Stream audio back to the caller in real-time (low latency)
2. Telnyx Telephony Integration
Configure Telnyx voice number for Call Control automation (not SIP trunking)
Use Telnyx’s REST APIs to control call answering and media streaming
Handle Telnyx webhook events reliably (call.initiated, call.hangup, etc.)
3. Server Environment and Setup
Deploy on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS server (Hetzner or equivalent)
