Job Overview
We are building a next-generation AI-powered travel app that combines:
- AI trip planning
• one-click booking (flights, hotels, experiences)
• trip organizer (timeline + map)
• AI Copilot (real-time travel assistant — core feature)
We are looking for a strong backend-focused full-stack engineer to lead:
• AI system development
• API architecture
• booking integrations
• Copilot orchestration
This is a 0 → 1 build, not maintenance work.
What You’ll Build (Project Phases)
- Phase 1: Foundation & AI Planning
• User auth + profile
• Trip database schema
• AI itinerary generator (LLM-based)
• API for trip creation + editing
- Phase 2: Booking Integration
• Flight search integration (Skyscanner / Duffel / Amadeus)
• Hotel search integration (Agoda / Booking / Expedia)
• Trip basket system
- Phase 3: Trip Organizer
• Trip timeline backend
• Booking record storage
• Map/location data APIs
- Phase 4: AI Copilot (Core Feature)
You will help build an agentic AI system, including:
• Context aggregation (trip + user + live data)
• Orchestrator (intent detection + tool routing)
Tool integrations:
• weather
• maps
• places / restaurants
• Recommendation engine
• Itinerary modification APIs
- Tech Stack (Preferred)
• Node.js (NestJS or Express)
• PostgreSQL (Supabase preferred)
• REST or GraphQL APIs
• Redis (optional)
• OpenAI / Claude APIs
• Vector DB (Pinecone or pgvector)
• Cloud: Vercel / AWS / Supabase
- Requirements
• You MUST have:
• strong experience building production APIs
• experience integrating 3rd-party APIs
• experience with LLM / AI workflows
• understanding of system architecture
• experience designing scalable backend systems
- Big plus if you have:
• built AI agents / tool-using LLM systems
• worked on travel / booking platforms
• experience with maps / location-based systems
