Automate QuickBooks Workflow and Build AI Assistant for my existing company

Overview
We are building an automated order-to-cash system on top of QuickBooks and are looking for a skilled developer who can handle this end-to-end.
This is not a simple integration. The goal is to eliminate manual work, streamline operations, and build an assistant interface to manage invoices, purchase orders, and workflows through simple commands.
Candidates with experience in QuickBooks automation, ERP systems, or workflow automation are preferred.
Scope of Work
Workflow Automation
Automate the following process:
RFQ (email) to Quote to Approval to Invoice to Payment
The system should automatically create and manage:
Quotes
Invoices
Purchase Orders (including multiple vendors and multiple POs)
Bills
Logic should handle:
Inventory vs non-inventory items
Multiple vendors per order
Shipment-based invoicing
Repeat Order Handling
The system should:
Detect repeat customers and orders
Skip quote creation when applicable
Automatically generate invoices with pre-filled item and pricing details
Keep invoices in a pending approval state before sending
Email Integration
Read RFQs from email
Send quotes, order confirmations, purchase orders, and invoices via email
Assistant Functionality
Build a simple assistant (chat-based or command-based) that can perform actions such as:
Mark Invoice 3, 5, 6 as paid
Apply 10 percent discount to Invoice 4 and mark it as paid
Add late fees and shipping charges to Invoice 10
Provide status for Invoice 5 and 6
Dashboard
Provide a simple interface to:
View quotes, invoices, purchase orders, and payment status
Approve or review transactions before final actions
Track activity logs
Technical Requirements
Strong experience with QuickBooks Online API (required)
Backend development in Node.js or Python
Experience with email APIs (Gmail or Outlook)
Experience building APIs and handling webhooks
Ability to design a database for workflow tracking
Preferred but not required:
Experience with AI integrations
Experience with ERP or accounting automation systems
Budget: Open, based on experience and proposal
