Project Overview
Heco is an award-winning social enterprise based in the Himalayas that develops regenerative tourism models empowering local communities and restoring fragile ecosystems. We are now preparing to scale our impact through an AI-powered online platform (the Heco Portal) that will connect travellers, local hosts, and regional partners across multiple destinations.
We are seeking a skilled professional (tech consultant / product architect) to help us prepare a detailed technical plan and development budget for this platform — the first phase of our scaling strategy.
Scope of Work
Your primary role will be to help us:
Understand the project requirements and propose technical architecture options (stack, infrastructure, AI integration approach).
Prepare a budget estimate for full-scale development (MVP + later phases).
Suggest a phased implementation plan (feature roadmap, cost by phase).
Provide strategic input on AI integration (recommendation engine, conversational assistant, itinerary optimization, etc.).
Recommend development strategies (in-house vs. outsourced components, API integrations, hosting, etc.).
Optionally, assist in preparing technical documentation for presentation to investors.
This first assignment focuses only on the planning and budgeting stage.
However, if performance and collaboration are excellent, you may be offered a key coordination or leadership role in the next phase — actual platform development.
About the Platform (high-level overview)
Core concept: an intelligent travel platform that helps travellers discover immersive, impact-driven tourism experiences while supporting local communities and regenerative projects.
Users: travellers, local partners, regional coordinators, and the Heco core team.
Key modules: itinerary generation, group travel matching, local partner dashboard, impact tracking, and AI-based personalization.
Technology: open to your recommendations (AI integration, scalable backend, responsive web UI, possibly hybrid app structure).
Who We’re Looking For
Strong background in software architecture, AI/ML planning, or tech product strategy.
Experience budgeting or managing web/app platforms (especially travel, marketplace, or social impact projects).
Ability to translate functional goals into clear technical milestones and cost frameworks.
Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
Passion for sustainable travel, social impact, or green innovation is a plus.

Brief assessment of Heco’s requirements and tech feasibility.
Documented architecture outline and recommended tools/stack.
Phased roadmap (MVP → full version).
Budget breakdown with approximate developer hours, resource needs, and costs.
