AI-Assisted UI Revamp and Code Refactoring

Our project is built with JSP, combining HTML and Java logic. We want to redesign and update the entire UI using AI-powered tools or techniques.
The ideal candidate should have experience in AI-assisted UI modernization, front-end optimization, and JSP integration.
We have an existing Java web application built using JSP, and traditional MVC structure, which has been in production for several years.
The system works reliably, but the UI layer and code structure are outdated, making it harder to maintain and extend.
We are looking for an experienced Java developer / software architect who can use modern development tools (looking for expert of AI for refractor the code, AI-assisted tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, Sourcegraph Cody, OpenRewrite, Azazon Q, or similar) to refactor and modernize the codebase — while retaining the existing backend business logic and workflows.
Deliverables
Change the complete UI/UX through AI tool.
POC of one page is required to start the whole project.
Refactor and clean up legacy JSP code:
Improve readability and maintainability.
Modernize the UI:
Update JSP/HTML/CSS/JS to a cleaner, responsive layout.
Introduce lightweight modern UI frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap or a simple SPA frontend) while keeping backend logic intact.
Ensure all current functionalities and workflows remain unchanged.
Preserve business logic and data flow:
No change to existing backend logic or database schema.
Ensure all existing functionality works exactly as before after refactoring.
Introduce test coverage & documentation:
Create minimal developer documentation (code structure, build instructions).
Use AI-based code tools:
You may use any AI tools (Copilot, GPT-based refactoring assistants, OpenRewrite, Amazon Q,etc.) to accelerate safe refactoring.
The aim is to reduce manual rewrite effort but ensure human-reviewed, production-ready code.
