Instructional Designer (Freelance) – Next-Gen Learning Journey Development | On-site (Gurugram, India)
Project Overview
We are looking for a forward-thinking Instructional Designer to help us conceptualize and build a modern, self-paced learning experience for young learners. This role requires strong instructional design fundamentals, expertise in digital-first content creation, and hands-on experience using AI tools for content development, structuring, and ideation.
You will play a key role in shaping the learning design approach, content architecture, and engagement model for a next-generation learning product. This is a ground-up opportunity with no preset templates—perfect for someone who blends creativity, structure, and new-age tools.
Responsibilities
- Design structured, multi-stage learning journeys for a digital platform.
- Apply modern ID frameworks (ADDIE, backward design, competency-based design).
- Convert complex concepts into clear, youth-friendly micro-learning content.
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Synthesia, Notebook LM, Notion AI, etc.) to:
- Generate content drafts and outlines
- Develop activities and learner prompts
- Accelerate research, ideation, and workflow
- Create modules, worksheets, reflection prompts, and self-assessment activities.
- Design basic diagnostics and progression logic for a DIY learning experience.
- Collaborate with internal teams/SMEs and iterate based on feedback.
- Required Skills & Experience
- Core Instructional Design Expertise
- 6–8+ years designing digital learning programs, online courses, bootcamps, or self-paced content.
- Strong grounding in instructional design models and modern pedagogy.
- Demonstrated ability to create end-to-end learning journeys, not just individual lessons.
- AI-Driven Content Creation (Must-Have)
Hands-on experience using AI tools for:
- Content generation
- Activity and prompt design
- Content structuring and variation
- Research acceleration
- Ability to merge AI output with human creativity and instructional logic.
- Digital Learning & Platform Mindset
- Experience designing content for LMS, learning apps, or digital-first products.
- Understanding of user journeys, micro-learning, and engagement design.
- Comfort with tools like Canva, Figma, Miro, Notion, Loom, etc.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience working on programs for teens/young adults.
- Exposure to personal development, skill-building, or career-readiness themes.
- EdTech or product-led content creation experience.
