AI Phone Receptionist Automation
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m looking to replace a traditional front-desk role with a fully automated, voice-based receptionist that operates exclusively over the phone. The system must pick up every incoming call, recognise natural speech, answer routine questions, book or reschedule appointments straight into my calendar, and offer the same polite guidance a human receptionist would.
Core functions
• Answer calls in real time, greet the caller by name when possible, and keep the conversation flowing naturally.
• Provide accurate information about our services, hours, location, and any FAQs I load into the knowledge base.
• Offer appointment slots, confirm choices, and push the booking or change directly to Google Calendar (or a comparable calendar you recommend).
• If the caller needs human assistance, transfer the call or take a voicemail with a clear transcription sent to my email.
Technical preferences
I’m comfortable with common voice platforms such as Twilio Voice, Dialogflow CX or OpenAI GPT, but I’m open to alternatives if you can show comparable reliability. Please include any licensing or usage fees in your approach so there are no surprises later. The final build should run in the cloud, require minimal maintenance, and give me an admin panel (or simple dashboard) where I can update FAQs and business hours without touching code.
Acceptance criteria
1. A live phone number that demonstrates the receptionist answering and completing a full booking flow.
2. Calendar integration tested for new, moved and cancelled appointments.
3. Call transcripts and recordings delivered to a specified email in under one minute.
4. Documentation covering setup, environment variables, and everyday updates I might need to make.
