Professional React AI Chat Interface
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m looking for a React-based web application that behaves like a polished AI chat window. The goal is to hand over a front-end that already feels “alive” so that I—or any back-end engineer—can simply wire it to an API later.
Core requirements
• The interface must be responsive and render messages in real time, using clean, reusable components written in modern React (hooks preferred).
• It should be styled with a professional look: restrained colour palette, balanced whitespace, and crisp typography that will feel at home in any corporate product.
• The conversation model it’s meant to host is for general chat, so there’s no need for specialised customer-service or tech-support flows; just focus on a flexible message layout ready for any text content.
• Show a smooth typing indicator whenever the “bot” is generating a response; this is the single must-have feature beyond standard sending/receiving bubbles.
Structure & tech notes
– Feel free to use TypeScript if it speeds you up, though plain JavaScript is fine.
– State management can stay local via hooks or Context; I don’t need Redux unless you prefer it.
– Keep API calls abstracted behind a service layer with placeholder functions returning mock data.
– Sass, Tailwind, or CSS-in-JS are all acceptable; pick whichever lets you keep styles modular.
Deliverables
1. Full React project in a Git repo (create-react-app, Vite, or Next.js—your choice).
2. Clear README with setup, build, and where to plug in an endpoint.
3. Well-commented component files so future devs instantly see where to extend functionality.
4. A quick screen recording or GIF showing the UI, message flow, and typing indicator in action.
Acceptance criteria
• Works on latest Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and mobile Safari/Chrome.
• No console errors or warnings on a fresh install.
• Typing indicator triggers on every simulated bot delay and hides when the message lands.
• Messages recycle gracefully (no memory leaks) when the chat grows long.
If you have a snappy live demo to share, that’s a plus. Let me know your framework preference and estimated turnaround, and we can get started.
