Global Context-Aware AI Chatbot for Futurense Moodle LMS
Project Description:
We are looking to hire an experienced AI/ML Developer or Team to design and integrate a context-aware AI chatbot into our Futurense Moodle LMS. The chatbot should act as a persistent learning assistant across all LMS tabs, providing real-time academic support, contextual insights, and learner engagement features.
The solution should combine natural language processing (NLP) with structured data from Moodle LMS (attendance, performance, courses, calendar events, discussion forums, etc.), along with unstructured content like lecture notes, video transcripts, and FAQs.
This project has already been defined with objectives, goals, and approval at the Founder’s Office level. A detailed Product Requirement Document (PRD) is prepared and will be shared with shortlisted freelancers.
Scope of Work:
1. Knowledge Architecture & Sources
* Connect chatbot to Moodle LMS database (enrollments, progress, grades, calendar, attendance).
* Integrate static knowledge base (FAQs, onboarding info, tutorials).
* Handle unstructured content (lecture files, video transcripts, discussion forums).
2. Core Features
* Persistent floating chatbot available on all Moodle LMS pages.
* Context-aware responses depending on tab (Dashboard, Courses, Calendar, Performance, Inside Course View).
* Support for tab-specific queries (e.g., “What’s my attendance?”, “Summarize Lecture 5 notes”).
* Outputs such as graphs, progress summaries, event reminders, and quiz analytics.
* Objection handling for sensitive cases (pending attendance, unreleased grades, quizzes in progress).
* Feedback mechanism for user satisfaction.
3. User Experience
* Floating chatbot icon with sidebar overlay (mockups provided).
* Context-aware labels (e.g., “You’re on the Performance tab”).
* Quick-action cards and suggestion chips.
* Visual outputs (charts, progress bars, summaries).
4. Analytics Dashboard
* Usage metrics (sessions, unique users, repeat users).
* Engagement by Moodle LMS tab.
* Query insights (top queries, unanswered queries, categories).
* User satisfaction (feedback per response, trend analysis).
* Learning impact (usage vs. course completion, performance, attendance).
* Technical metrics (bot response time, downtime, error logs).

Technical Requirements:
* AI/NLP integration (OpenAI API, Rasa, Dialogflow, LangChain or similar).
*Mandatory: Familiarity with Moodle LMS (APIs, DB schema, plugins, integration workflows).
* Ability to process structured + unstructured data.
* Scalable and secure architecture.
* Clean responsive UI.
* Logging, monitoring, and fallback error handling.
