AI Chatbot for EdX LMS
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
My learning management system hosts a growing catalogue of EdX STEM and professional-development courses, and I want a conversational assistant built directly into the platform. The single, clear goal: let students ask anything and receive an immediate, accurate reply.
Scope of questions the bot must handle
• Course content questions
• Technical issues (login problems, browser errors, etc.)
• Administrative queries (deadlines, certificates, enrolment)
Core requirements
• Draw context from the actual EdX course materials so answers are specific, not generic.
• Work equally well across STEM and professional-development subjects.
• Integrate with the LMS through its REST API and sit unobtrusively on every course page.
• Maintain user context across a session without storing personal data once the browser closes.
• Produce responses in clear, student-friendly language; fallback to a polite “let me escalate” when confidence is low.
• Dashboard where I can review unanswered questions and refine training data.
Deliverables
1. A fully deployed chatbot service (Python or Node.js) connected to my LMS staging server.
2. Source code with inline documentation and a short setup guide.
3. Brief video demo showing the bot answering the three question types listed above.
4. One-month post-launch support for bug fixes.
I will provide API keys, a sample course export, and test accounts. If you have previous NLP or EdX/LTI integration experience, it will help us hit the ground running.
