Dental Billing AI Bot Development
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I want to automate the most time-consuming parts of our U.S. dental revenue cycle with AI-driven bots. The immediate focus is on four key billing activities:
• Claims submission
• Payment posting
• Insurance verification
• Eligibility checks
The bots must work smoothly inside our existing practice-management software and log in to the major insurance company portals we use every day. If an API is unavailable, screen automation or other reliable work-arounds are acceptable as long as they remain HIPAA-compliant and error-resilient.
I’m not fixed on one type of AI; whether you lean on traditional rule engines, machine-learning models, natural-language processing, or a hybrid approach, I’m open to the method that gives the highest accuracy and speed while keeping maintenance low.
Deliverables I’d like to see:
1. A working prototype that handles one real claim end-to-end.
2. Clear documentation of the tech stack, setup steps, and training data (if any).
3. A roadmap for scaling the prototype to cover all four tasks and additional insurers.

Purpose: Demonstrates the exact data fields your office collects for CDT procedure codes, tooth numbers/surfaces, provider NPIs, and subscriber IDs.
Tip: Black out or synthetic-replace all real patient names, DOBs, SSNs, and subscriber IDs.
2. Sample EDI 835 / EOB Remittance File or Visual EOB
Purpose: Shows how your primary insurance carriers (e.g., Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna) format their Electronic Remittance Advice or paper Explanation of Benefits for payment posting and adjustment reasons.
3. Practice Management Software (PMS) Ledger Screenshot
Purpose: Illustrates the specific interface where payments, claim statuses, and eligibility adjustments need to be posted inside your PMS (e.g., Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft).
4. Workflow Diagram or Screen Recording (GIF/MP4)
Purpose: A short walkthrough showing a billing specialist manually logging into a major insurance portal (e.g., Availity, DentalXChange, or Delta Dental) to perform an eligibility check (270/271) or claim status lookup.
