AI Visual Artist/Animator for Children's Content
Budget: £5,000 – £10,000 GBP
We are looking for a talented AI Visual Artist / 2D Animator to help create high-quality 2D animated content for children.
IMPORTANT: Please make sure to answer the questions at the end of this job post in your application. Applications that do not answer these questions, or appear to be generic copy-paste proposals, will not be considered.
This is not a role for someone who only uses general tools like ChatGPT. We are looking for an artist/animator who has hands-on experience with visual AI tools, animation-specific workflows, character animation tools, image-to-video tools, motion tools, compositing, and editing pipelines.
We already have an existing original animation series / IP, including established characters, backgrounds, and visual assets. The selected artist will be expected to use these existing character and background assets to create new animated episodes or scenes based on provided scripts.
The goal is to produce animations that feel polished, intentional, and visually consistent, not generic AI-generated content. We want the final output to look closer to the quality of the attached reference video.
Responsibilities
- Create 2D animated scenes using our existing character and background assets
- Work from provided scripts and translate them into clear visual storytelling
- Animate characters in a way that preserves their design, personality, and consistency
- Maintain visual continuity across scenes and episodes
- Apply strong cinematography, framing, camera movement, and scene composition
- Use AI visual/animation tools effectively while keeping the output artistically controlled
- Avoid generic, random, or obviously AI-looking results
- Deliver polished animations suitable for children’s content
- Collaborate with us on revisions and improve scenes based on feedback
Requirements
- Strong experience with AI-based visual and animation tools
- Good understanding of 2D animation principles
- Ability to work with existing character and background asset libraries
- Strong sense of continuity, composition, timing, and storytelling
- Experience creating animated content for children is a plus
- Ability to match an existing visual style and maintain consistency
- Comfortable working on a long-term production pipeline
- Good communication and reliability
- Portfolio or examples of previous animation work required
Important Notes
This is intended to become a long-term collaboration. If we find the right artist, we would like to produce many projects together using our existing IP and visual world.
Please review the attached reference video before applying. We are looking for someone who can achieve a similar level of quality, polish, and visual consistency.
To apply, please answer these 3 questions:
1- Which AI visual / animation tools do you currently use, and what does your typical workflow look like for creating a 2D animated scene?
2- How would you use an existing character and background asset library to create new animations while keeping style, character consistency, and continuity intact?
3- If we provide you with one existing character asset and a short brief, would you be able to create a short test animation (for example, two 3–5 second scene variations) to demonstrate your workflow, quality, and ability to maintain character consistency?
Budget: £10k+ GBP (Negotiable based on experience).
