React Agora Streaming Frontend

Job ID: 40508810

Budget: $30 – $250 AUD

I’m building an entertainment-focused live-streaming platform aimed at influencers and content creators and need a React specialist to complete the frontend. The core of the job is wiring up the Agora Web SDK so that broadcasters can go live and viewers can join instantly, all inside a clean, responsive interface.

Key tasks
• Set up the main player screen with Agora video and audio streams.
• Implement real-time live chat that sits alongside the stream (socket or Agora RTM—whichever you’re more comfortable with).
• Handle basic session states: waiting to go live, live, and stream ended.
• Expose React hooks or context so the rest of the app can easily pull stream status and viewer counts.
• Ensure compatibility across modern desktop and mobile browsers.

I already have design mock-ups and a simple Node/Express backend serving auth tokens; you’ll be consuming those endpoints rather than building server code yourself. Code should be TypeScript, component-based, and styled with either plain CSS modules or styled-components—whichever aligns with your usual workflow.

Acceptance criteria
1. Starting a broadcast connects to Agora and renders video within two seconds.
2. Up to 1,000 concurrent viewers join without page refresh and see the stream.
3. Chat messages appear for all participants in under 500 ms round-trip.
4. No critical console errors in Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge (latest versions).

Please include links to any React + Agora work you’ve shipped and a short outline of your proposed implementation plan so I can hit the ground running with you.
