Fintech Project Manager
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m hunting for a contract Project Manager who can jump straight into our rapidly-moving fintech product team and keep day-to-day delivery airtight. The work is execution-heavy: you’ll run sprints, guard our Jira boards, and make sure engineering, product, and design stay perfectly in sync as we push toward launch.
Why your fintech experience matters
Because we’re handling regulated payment flows, someone who already speaks the language of KYC, PCI, or similar compliance frameworks will get up to speed fastest. You’ll often be the first to spot risks that only show up in financial services.
Where you’ll make the biggest impact
Jira hygiene is our toughest pain point. Every ticket must mirror reality so reports, burndowns, and stakeholder dashboards stay trustworthy. You’ll own board configuration, backlog grooming, workflow tweaks, and the polite nagging that keeps statuses current.
How we currently work
• GitHub powers our repo and PR process, with automatic links to Jira issues.
• The team follows a lightweight Scrum cadence—two-week sprints, daily stand-ups, and retros—yet remains open to your ideas if they sharpen execution.
Key responsibilities
1. Translate product requirements into crystal-clear Jira tickets, definitions of done, and acceptance criteria.
2. Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, demos, and retros, ensuring stories move from “To Do” to “Done” without drag.
3. Maintain up-to-the-minute reporting—burn-down charts, velocity trends, and executive readouts—so leadership sees progress and blockers in real time.
4. Coordinate across engineering, design, compliance, and external vendors, clearing roadblocks quickly.
5. Track launch timelines, call out scope creep early, and adjust plans while protecting critical milestones.
What will tell us the job is done well
• Jira dashboards always reflect true status—no stale tickets older than 24 hours.
• Each sprint closes with 90 %+ commitment completion and a clear carry-over rationale when not.
• Stakeholders receive concise weekly summaries covering progress, blockers, and next actions.
Logistics
• Fully remote, contract basis; overlap with US Eastern hours for meetings.
• Immediate start—expect onboarding documents and environment access on day one so you can lead the first planning session within your first week.
If tidy boards, disciplined sprints, and fintech delivery get you excited, let’s talk right away.
