Cinematic Underwater Dive Video Grading

Job ID: 40319642

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I am creating a series of YouTube scuba dive-trip videos and need them to look as breathtaking onscreen as they did beneath the surface. My goal is to learn how to tweak the videos -- color correction, color grading, stabilization, zoom in, etc.

I want a natural grade rather than a hyper-saturated tourist look. I have a few reference clips that I’ll pass those along at the start so you have a clear target.

You should already be comfortable with the quirks of underwater footage—loss of reds, shifting color temperature with depth, backscatter, and occasional exposure swings. I’m editing in 4K. I would like to learn from you on how to set up DaVinci Resolve for 4K videos. Also, if possible, what settings to use on my cameras.

Goals:
• Learn to use Resolve to color-correct and grade.
• Learn how to use stabilization, zooms, etc.
• Learn how and when to use curves, wheels, etc.
• Brief note on any shots that need a re-shoot or extra cleanup

I’ll supply YouTube videos that I created the moment we connect.
