Realistic Aurora Photo Editing
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
I have three high-resolution landscape shots taken in broad daylight. I’d like each of them transformed so the Northern Lights appear gently arcing across the sky, looking as if they were captured in camera rather than added later. The effect should stay subtle and natural—think soft greens and dim magentas that respect the existing daylight tones instead of overpowering them.
Please handle sky replacement or compositing in a way that preserves cloud detail, horizon edges and overall contrast. I still want the landscapes themselves—trees, water, mountains—to keep their original daylight character; only the sky should shift toward that quiet aurora glow. Color grading to harmonize foreground and sky is important, but avoid pushing the scene into an obvious dusk or nighttime look.
You’re welcome to work in Photoshop, Affinity Photo or another professional editor as long as non-destructive layers are used.
Deliverables:
• 3 final JPEGs in the original resolution, ready for sharing/printing
• Layered PSD (or equivalent) for each image so I can review the compositing work
• Any reference textures or brushes you introduce, organised in a separate folder
I’ll sign off once the lights blend seamlessly, edges are clean at 200% zoom, and there are no tell-tale halos or color banding. If that sounds straightforward, let’s begin.
