High-Resolution Photo Colorization

I have a single black-and-white photograph that will become the front cover of my upcoming book, so I need it converted into a full-color, print-ready image. The final piece must look naturally shot in color—skin tones, clothing hues, and the surrounding background should all feel authentic and true to life rather than tinted or stylised.

To make this easier, I’ll provide reference photos that show the real-world palette I have in mind. Please use those guides while giving particular attention to the faces, the clothing details, and the background scenery—they all have to read convincingly at first glance.

Because this will go straight to a cover designer, I’m counting on you for a high-resolution output suitable for commercial print (300 dpi at the original portrait’s full size). A layered PSD or TIFF plus a flattened JPG would be perfect. If your workflow relies on tools such as Photoshop, Affinity Photo, or other professional colorization software, just let me know.

I’d like a quick preview once basic colors are blocked in, so we can catch any issues early and keep revisions light. Once I approve that draft, you can refine shading, contrast, and any minor retouching needed before delivering the final files.
