A320 Hydrogen Retrofit Concept Design
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am undertaking a feasibility study to convert an Airbus A320 to run on liquid-hydrogen propulsion supported by fuel cells. At this stage I only need a conceptual design, with the spotlight squarely on the hydrogen propulsion system layout—tank sizing and placement, cryogenic feed lines, fuel-cell stack distribution, power management architecture, and how all of that ties into existing A320 structures and systems.
Here is what I would like back, all within one month:
• A concise technical report (PDF) explaining key design assumptions, performance estimates, weight & balance impact, and certification considerations.
• Annotated 2D schematics or a lightweight 3D model (CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) that shows tank positioning, line routing, and major fuel-cell components in the fuselage and wings.
• System block diagrams illustrating energy flow from hydrogen storage through to propulsion and auxiliary loads.
While fuel-cell integration details and broader structural mods are important, they can stay at outline level for now—the priority is a clear, defendable propulsion layout that proves overall viability. If you have prior experience with CS-25 compliance, cryogenic systems, or alternative-fuel aircraft, please mention it when you respond.
