YouTube Video Editor for History Channel

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented YouTube Video Editor for a History Channel/Explained Videos who can turn scripts and raw voiceovers into visually stunning, binge-worthy videos. You will play a crucial role in shaping the visual identity of the channel by creating dynamic edits that keep viewers engaged from start to finish.

Responsibilities
Edit long-form and short-form videos (10–20 minutes) for YouTube.

Incorporate images, b-roll, historical footage, maps, and motion graphics to enhance storytelling.

Add subtitles, captions, and on-screen text for clarity and engagement.

Ensure pacing, music, and transitions align with the educational yet entertaining tone of the channel.

Optimize videos for YouTube best practices (resolution, aspect ratio, retention-focused editing).

Collaborate with the channel owner for feedback and revisions.

Qualifications
Proven experience editing YouTube videos (portfolio or examples required).

Strong skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.

Ability to source royalty-free music, sound effects, and stock footage.

Knowledge of storytelling principles and how to keep viewers engaged.

Familiarity with YouTube trends and retention strategies.

Interest in history or educational content is a big plus!

Preferred Skills
Motion graphics & animations (After Effects proficiency).

Thumbnail design experience (Photoshop or Canva).

Understanding of YouTube analytics and optimization strategies.
