About the Role:
We're looking for a talented YouTube video editor to join our team and help create high-retention lifestyle and travel vlogs. This is not a basic editing position. We need someone who understands storytelling, audience psychology, pacing, and how to keep viewers engaged from beginning to end.
The editing style we're aiming for is similar to creators such as Brez Scales and BSM Fredo. The goal is to make viewers feel like they're experiencing the journey with us, not just watching random clips stitched together.
Responsibilities:
- Create engaging, high-retention YouTube vlogs from raw footage.
- Develop strong storytelling intros that immediately capture attention within the first 5 to 30 seconds.
- Identify and preserve every exciting, funny, emotional, luxurious, or high-energy moment.
- Remove dead space, repetitive footage, awkward pauses, and anything that hurts viewer retention.
- Structure videos to maintain curiosity and momentum throughout the entire vlog.
- Use purposeful cuts, zooms, punch-ins, sound design, and pacing techniques to increase engagement.
- Incorporate B-roll, overlays, graphics, and cinematic sequences when appropriate.
- Add transitions that enhance storytelling without becoming distracting or overused.
- Color correct and color grade footage to improve overall image quality.
- Sync edits with music to elevate emotional moments and create energy.
- Balance dialogue, music, ambient sounds, and sound effects for a polished final product.
- Maintain consistency with our brand style across all videos.
- Organize project files and deliver edits in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Experience editing YouTube lifestyle, entrepreneurship, luxury lifestyle, or travel content.
- Proven experience working with U.S.-based creators or brands.
- Strong understanding of YouTube audience retention principles.
- Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong color correction and audio editing abilities.
- Reliable communication and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Fast turnaround times without sacrificing quality.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience editing videos in styles similar to Brez Scales, BSM Fredo, MrBeast, or Airrack.
- Ability to create custom motion graphics.
- Understanding of YouTube analytics and how editing impacts watch time.
- Experience creating compelling thumbnails.
