Video Editor + Sound for 60-Second Horror Film Trailer
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m an independent horror writer-director seeking a skilled video editor to finish a 60-second trailer for my psychological tech-horror short film, MUTED. This is a paid test project — if it goes well, there’s ongoing work editing the full film and three additional films in the same anthology series.
What’s already done:
The trailer is fully designed — I have a clear beat-by-beat structure and most of the opening footage already assembled (the phone-call scenes are cut and in place). You’ll be finishing the assembly, not starting from scratch.
What I need you to do:
• Assemble the remaining clips into the trailer following my provided structure/brief
• Create a digital “glitch” effect for a key transition moment (screen distortion/corruption — this is the signature visual beat)
• Sound: clean up and balance dialogue audio (one character’s camera audio is low and needs attention), add tension/sound design, and deliver a polished trailer mix
• Light color adjustment so clips match (full film color is handled separately by my colorist — I just need the trailer looking clean and consistent)
• Add simple text/title cards at the end (title + release date)
Footage details:
• Shot on Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, BRAW format
• Edited in Premiere Pro (please be comfortable working in Premiere and able to deliver a project file)
• I’ll provide footage, my structure brief, and the partial timeline
Deliverables:
• Final 60-second trailer (1080p, plus a vertical 9:16 version for social if possible)
• Premiere project file
• Clean export ready for YouTube
