Psychedelic Therapy Documentary Creation
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 CAD
I’m developing a documentary that dives deep into mental health, with a specific lens on psychedelic-assisted therapy and its growing role in treatment. I already have a broad concept and initial research; what I need now is a filmmaker who can turn this vision into a polished, engaging film.
Scope of work
• Refine the story arc, outlining key interview subjects (clinicians, researchers, and patients) and pivotal scenes.
• Plan and coordinate field shoots: scheduling, location scouting, release forms, and on-site direction.
• Capture high-quality interviews and relevant B-roll, ensuring clear, empathetic storytelling.
• Handle post-production—editing, color, sound mix, basic graphics, and subtitles—to deliver a festival-ready cut of approximately 20–30 minutes.
Resources & expectations
I’ll provide preliminary contacts, background studies, and any needed access letters. You bring the camera, audio gear, and editing suite (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or equivalent). Prior work on health or science topics is a big plus, especially if you’ve tackled sensitive subjects such as trauma or therapy.
Final deliverables
1. Locked documentary master (ProRes or comparable high-quality format).
2. One-minute teaser for social media promotion.
3. Project files and raw footage neatly organized for future use.
If you’re passionate about mental health and fascinated by the potential of psychedelics as therapy, let’s craft a story that informs, challenges, and inspires.
