Hiring — Freelance Video Editor (Youtube)

Job ID: 40320580

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

The Opportunity

Most creators with something real to say never build an audience.

Not because the content isn't good. Because it never looks the part.

I'm building a YouTube channel around what I know — starting companies, growing them fast, and the mindset it takes to do both. I've generated over $10 million online. I'm building Lockd from scratch. I've got stories, lessons, and frameworks that people actually need.

What I need is someone who can make that content impossible to skip.

That's where you come in.

---

What The Channel Is About

I'm Dylan. 25. Former D1 athlete turned entrepreneur.

I've built multiple 7-figure businesses in marketing — agencies, e-commerce, performance marketing. Now I'm building Lockd, a focus app that blocks distractions at the system level so people can actually do their best work.

The channel is about the real side of building — not the highlight reel. The decisions, the mistakes, the growth, the grind.

Entrepreneurship. Marketing. Startups. What actually works and what doesn't.

The audience is builders. People who want to create something real and are looking for someone who's done it to show them how.

The Role

You'll own the editing on my YouTube videos end to end.

I show up, I record, I give you the raw footage. You turn it into something people watch start to finish.

What you'll do:

- Edit long-form YouTube videos (10–20 min) built to hold attention start to finish
- Cut for pace — tight edits, no dead air, no wasted seconds
- Structure videos for maximum retention — hooks, chapters, payoffs
- Add graphics, b-roll, captions, and transitions that serve the story
- Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity for the channel
- Give creative input — I want a collaborator, not just an executor

What you won't do:

- Touch short-form. This is long-form only — deep, high-quality YouTube videos.
- Wait weeks for feedback
- Sit in pointless meetings
- Get micromanaged on every cut

What I'm Looking For

I don't care about your resume. I care about what you've made.

- Portfolio — show me YouTube edits specifically. I want to see retention-focused work.
- Taste — do you know what makes someone keep watching? Can you feel when a video is losing momentum?
- Speed — can you turn around quality work without dragging your feet?
- Communication — async-first. I need someone who's responsive and clear.
- Consistency — this isn't a one-off. I need someone who shows up every week.

Technical skills.

- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve
- Proven experience editing long-form YouTube content
- Strong grasp of hooks, pacing, chapter structure, and retention
- Ability to source and cut b-roll that actually adds to the story
- Motion graphics and captions are a plus

---

This Isn't For You If:

- You've never edited long-form YouTube content before
- You need a fully scripted brief before you can start
- You treat deadlines as suggestions
- You're looking for a one-time project

This IS For You If:

- You've edited YouTube videos that actually performed
- You understand that the edit is half the content
- You want to grow with a channel from the ground up
- You move fast and take ownership of your work

About Me

I'm a former Division I football player who took everything I learned about discipline, competition, and winning — and applied it to business.

I've built agencies, scaled e-commerce brands, and run performance marketing that generated over $10 million in revenue online. Right now I'm building Lockd — a focus app that's solving one of the biggest problems of our generation.

I move fast. I hold high standards. I invest in the people I work with. And I don't waste your time.
