Test Edit – 40s Documentary Short Video
I’m launching a documentary-style YouTube channel and I am looking for a long-term editing partner.
This is a paid test edit.
Test details:
— Length: ~40 seconds
— Voice-over length: ~14 seconds (fixed, do not slow down)
— Style: calm, paced, documentary
— Language: English
— The test edit will not be publishes
Important:
The voice-over does not dictate pacing.
The extra time must be created through visual rhythm, not narration manipulation.
Please DO:
— Use visual beats and subtle motion
— Change visuals every 2–4 seconds
— Use detail crops or alternate frames
— Allow pauses and visual holds
Please DO NOT:
— Use templates, flashy transitions, wipes, or zoom-punch effects
— Cut visuals strictly to VO speed
— Treat this as a slideshow or fast social edit
Material provided:
— Final VO
— Fixed script
— Clear timeline & guidance
Not provided:
— Footage (editor to source suitable, licensed documentary material)
— Background music (eidtor to include calm, minimal piano music; subtle, royalty-free)
If the test works well, this leads to ongoing work (1–2 videos/week).
