Cinematic Music Video Editing
Budget: $800 – $1,100 USD
Cinematic Music Video Editor – Acoustic Snow Performance (Co-Creative Collaboration)
I am seeking a highly skilled cinematic video editor to collaborate on a music video for an intimate acoustic song filmed outdoors in the snow.
This is not a social-media style edit.
The goal is a film-like, emotionally grounded piece that serves the song.
Project Overview:
3-camera shoot (Canon static + 2 iPhones: static and handheld)
3 full performance takes:
– 2 takes with 3 cameras
– 1 take with 2 cameras
Pre-master WAV will be provided (start and end locked)
Musical structure is fixed and will not change
Natural winter lighting with some inconsistencies between takes
Representative still frames from raw, ungraded footage are provided for evaluation. Full-resolution video files will be shared with the selected editor.
What I’m Looking For:
Intelligent multi-camera assembly
Selection of a strong primary “spine” take
Thoughtful pacing within the fixed song structure
Professional color grading to unify lighting differences
Clean, restrained editing (minimal transitions; no flashy effects)
Cinematic tone with emotional subtlety
I am looking for a creative collaborator in shaping visual pacing and tone.
Final creative approval remains with me.
Creative Direction:
The video must serve the emotional arc of the song.
Tone should feel:
Cinematic
Honest
Spacious
Minimal
Emotionally grounded
One take includes symbolic blood in the snow, reflecting the lyrical themes.
The blood should:
Appear only in key lyrical moments
Gradually become slightly more present toward the end
Feel ironic, poetic, emotionally disturbing, and thought-provoking
Avoid any graphic or sensational treatment
The final frame should feel:
Still
Quiet
Slightly unsettling
Reflective
The goal is to leave the viewer in silence rather than resolution.
Deliverables:
Final 4K master (or highest available resolution)
1080p version for web/social
Color-graded, fully polished edit
Two revision rounds after initial rough cut
Final export must be delivered without embedded text overlays.
Please Provide:
2–3 cinematic music video examples (acoustic or performance-based preferred)
Examples of natural-light color grading
Editing software used
Estimated timeline and budget
Organized project files (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci, etc.) delivered upon completion, structured for future revisions or short-form extracts.
Any LUTs or adjustment layers used (if applicable)
Project must be delivered in a format that allows future edits or short-form extracts
Uploaded:
- The full song (pre-master MP3)
- Still images from the raw, 8 ungraded video clips (from different cameras and takes)
that demonstrate lighting differences, framing variations, and overall visual tone
(Full-resolution source files will be shared with the selected editor.)
