Cinematic Folk High School Memory Film
Budget: $200 – $350 USD
I’m ready to transform two unforgettable years at folk high school into a single, sweeping film set to “A Thousand Years by JohnMichael howell & JVKE.” You’ll receive a folder of phone clips, DSLR footage, and still photos gathered from several devices; your task is to weave them into a sentimental, cinematic narrative that grabs the viewer’s heart from the first note.
Note: As I am writing I will be gone for a school trip from 24th of April to 30th of April, but I will be collecting photos & videos from that trip that I want into this video also.
Here’s the mood I’m after: a soft-toned, romantic look underscored by gentle color grading, slow-motion passages, and seamless transitions. Throughout the video I’d love tasteful lyric typography that appears in time with key lines of the song, further amplifying the emotion.
Focus points
• People, places, and events all deserve equal spotlight, but the magic lives in candid moments—laughter in the common room, spontaneous outdoor adventures, inside jokes caught on camera.
• Avoid anything that feels overly staged; authenticity is everything.
Technical expectations
– Full-length edit that matches the original track (≈ 4 min 45 sec).
– 16:9 master in 4K or crisp 1080p, plus a square or vertical social cut if feasible.
– Clean audio mix so the song shines, with natural ambience where it adds feeling.
– Subtle titles for dates or locations only when they enrich the story.
– One revision round to fine-tune pacing, color, or text.
Preferred tools include Premiere Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve—anything that lets you grade, stabilize, and animate text fluidly.
