Portrait Photobook Design for Print
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I’m compiling a high-quality photobook that showcases a curated collection of portraits and need a graphic designer who can take the images from “nice shots” to a cohesive, press-ready publication. The scope covers the full layout from front cover to final page, including a custom cover design that sets the tone of the book and tasteful text captions that accompany each portrait without overpowering the imagery.
I will supply the hi-res photos, rough page order, and any text required for captions. Your role is to craft a polished, print-ready file—ideally using Adobe InDesign (with supporting work in Photoshop or Illustrator as needed)—that a commercial printer can take straight to press. Color accuracy, margin safety, correct bleed settings, and thoughtful typography are essential.
When you respond, focus on a detailed project proposal: briefly outline your creative approach, the stages you’d follow, and your estimated timeline from first draft to final print PDF. Links to past photobook, magazine, or portfolio projects are welcome for context, but the strength of your plan for this specific book is what I’ll weigh most heavily.
Deliverables I’ll use for acceptance:
• Concept mock-ups of cover and one interior spread for sign-off
• Complete, editable InDesign package with linked assets
• Final press-ready PDF following my printer’s specifications
If you’re ready to bring portraiture to life on the printed page, I’m looking forward to reading your proposal.
