Photo-Centric YouTube Thumbnail Design

My channel is Heal Your Gut. Heal Your Life targeting mums and women interested in holistic simple health. The podcast is in the top 3 alternative podcasts in Australia, but on youtube very little traction and thats because the thumbnails need significant imoproving. I like thumbnails like DOAC. Simple and not gimmicky but attention grabbing. Needs great facial expressions, imagery possibly and clever fonts for the headers. I have bout 20 video covers to redo and then 1 every week. Every video needs to showcase an exceptional image of its own. I’m after a photo-centric look: the main visual should command attention while a bold, clearly legible text layer drives the click. Think strong photography first, but headline-style wording integrated as a close second. (not an afterthought).
We can start with 3 covers and the successful applicant will then upgrade the rest of the covers once the job is awareded.

Here’s how I see the workflow:

• You receive the video title and a brief hook from me.
• You source or refine a compelling photo, apply color grading or light retouching as needed, then lay in the headline so it reads instantly on both desktop and mobile. Photos should include me as well. Unless we cant get the right expression. But ideally includes me.
• Deliver a high-res PNG ready for upload plus the editable file (PSD or layered AI).

I value quick turnarounds and will provide feedback within hours so revisions stay minimal and efficient. If clean composition, smart cropping, and typography hierarchy are your strengths, you’ll fit right in.
