Merge Two Holiday Photos

I have two high-resolution holiday shots and I’d like to combine them. The plan is simple: lift the background from photo A and place it behind the subjects—two people and six cats—from photo B. Both images share similar lighting and colour tones, so this should mainly be a precise masking and clean blending task rather than extensive colour grading.
I’ll provide the original files (RAW or high-quality JPEG). What I need back is one seamless composite that looks as if it was captured in-camera: crisp edges around the people and cats, natural shadows, and no visible halos. Please work in Photoshop (or an equivalent tool) and deliver:
• A flattened, print-ready JPEG/PNG at full resolution
• The layered PSD so I can fine-tune later if needed
