KDP Hardcover Cover Adjustment
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
Title: KDP Hardcover Wrap Cover Adjustment – Safe Zones, Spine & 300 DPI PDF
Description:
I need an experienced book cover designer (Photoshop or InDesign) to fix a completed wraparound hardcover cover for KDP.
Book title: The Agentic Edge
Author: Atul Tiwary
Current file: Full wrap JPG at 3750 × 2775 px (uploaded), intended for 300 DPI hardcover.
What needs to be done:
Respect KDP safe zones
Move all text and important design elements inward by at least 0.625 inches (187 px at 300 DPI) from every outer edge of the full spread (top, bottom, left, right).
Keep overall layout and typography as close as possible to the existing design.
Back cover (left panel)
Move the main title and subtitle at the top down so they clearly sit inside the 0.625" safe zone.
Nudge the “About the Book” and “About the Author” body text away from the left and bottom edges so they are fully inside the safe zone.
Move the author name at the bottom up so it is clearly inside the bottom safe area.
Spine
Confirm the actual spine width for a KDP hardcover at my trim size and page count (I will provide trim size, paper type, and page count).
Constrain all spine text fully within the spine area, centered, and away from the hinge.
Leave at least 0.4 inches on both sides of the spine as a blank hinge area (no text or critical elements), per KDP recommendations.
Front cover (right panel)
Move the front title block and geometric elements down so nothing important is closer than 0.625" to the top edge.
Move the author name up and left so it sits at least 0.625" from the bottom and right edges.
Preserve the existing copper geometric pattern/composition as much as possible.
Background and texture
Where elements are moved inward, fill any exposed gaps with:
Matching dark brown leather texture, and
Copper geometric lines consistent with the current style, so the wrap looks seamless.
Deliverables
Final, print-ready PDF at 300 DPI, full spread, suitable for KDP hardcover (I will provide final KDP template if needed).
A layered PSD or INDD file with:
Separate layers for background, texture, geometry, and each text block.
One flattened high‑res JPG/PNG for my own records.
Requirements:
Proven experience preparing covers for KDP (hardcover preferred).
Strong typography and layout skills.
Ability to work precisely to print-safe/bleed/trim specs and hinge guidance.
When you apply, please:
Share 2–3 KDP (or other POD) book covers you’ve prepared, ideally wraparound hardcovers.
Confirm you understand the 0.625" safe zone and 0.4" hinge requirements and how you’ll implement them.
Provide an estimated turnaround time and fixed price.
