Graphic Designer for Custom Wall Mural Projects (pilot)
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
Hi! We provide custom mural wall printing services. We are looking for a skilled graphic designer to assist us on a case-by-case basis (approximately 3 tasks per week).
Most of our work involves taking customer files (often low-resolution or the wrong size) and preparing them for high-quality, large-scale wall printing.
We prefer freelancers who have experience with large-format printing and high-resolution file management.
What you will do:
Adjust & Scale Artwork: Take customer files (JPG/PNG) and resize them to fit specific wall dimensions.
Background Extension: Use Photoshop (Generative Fill or manual cloning) to extend backgrounds if the image is too small for the wall.
Quality Enhancement: Improve the resolution of images so they look sharp when printed at a large scale.
Colour Conversion: Ensure all files are correctly set to CMYK for accurate printing.
Tiling (Optional): Sometimes we may need the mural split into vertical panels/tiles for printing.
Occasional New Design: Sometimes you will create a new mural design based on a specific theme or customer request.
Technical Requirements:
Adobe Photoshop Expert: You must be very good at image manipulation and scaling.
Adobe Illustrator: For vector-based murals and layouts.
Large Format Knowledge: You must understand DPI/PPI requirements for prints that are several meters wide.
CMYK Mastery: You must understand how colours shift from screen (RGB) to print (CMYK).
Workflow & Payment:
Frequency: Approximately 3 tasks per week.
Process: We will send you the image and the wall dimensions.
Quote: For every task, we will ask for an indicative total cost (how many hours x your rate).
Award: Once we agree on the cost, we will award the task.
Payment: We pay an hourly rate, but we need the cost estimate before you start each job.
Deliverables:
High-resolution, print-ready PDF or TIFF.
CMYK colour mode.
Correct dimensions (including bleed if requested).
Original source files (PSD/AI) when requested.
