Advanced Lightroom Photo Editor (Manual Editing - No Presets)
Budget: $10 – $200 USD
We’re a growing luxury boudoir photography business seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Photo Editor to help maintain a consistent, authentic editing style. We do not rely on presets; instead, we focus on precise, manual edits that enhance the subject without altering their natural body shape or features. You’ll be working on a range of images—anywhere from 10 to 120 per session—and each shoot can vary greatly in background, season, weather, and lighting. We aim for a long-term partnership with someone who is open to ongoing feedback and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For:
Advanced Lightroom Expertise
-Comfortable with manual adjustments, masking, dodge and burn, editing backgrounds separately from subjects, and refining each image to suit its unique lighting conditions.
-Able to match anchor images across multiple cameras for cohesive final galleries, while recognizing that copy/paste edits won’t always work due to changing conditions.
-We embrace real skin textures, wrinkles, and cellulite. Temporary blemishes and redness may be addressed, but absolutely no body manipulation or reshaping.
-Willing to receive photo critiques, discuss improvements, and refine edits based on guidance, working closely as part of our team.
-Familiarity with Skin Retouching Tools (e.g., Evoto), helpful for evening out skin tones and handling minor blemishes—while staying true to our body-positive mission.
-Comfortable working with nudity and ensuring complete confidentiality- absolutely no sharing images at all, including privately.
-Efficiency and reliability are key. Please be prepared to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
-Receive & Edit Lightroom Catalogs, incorporate our anchor images as a guide, then manually fine-tune each photo for lighting, color balance, and skin retouching.
-Maintain Style Consistency, ensure the overall look of each gallery remains cohesive, even when images come from different cameras and dynamic lighting situations.
-Uphold Body-Positive Values, Retouch responsibly—no reshaping, only minimal corrections of temporary blemishes or color inconsistencies.
-Participate in regular check-ins, embrace critiques, and apply feedback to continuously improve our shared editing approach.
-Keep all files confidential; no unauthorized use or sharing of images.
Qualifications
-Demonstrated proficiency in Lightroom is essential; additional experience in Evoto is a plus, but not required if you are willing to learn.
-Strong Understanding of Color & Light, ability to adjust and match tones across varying environments (sunny, shady, cloudy, shadows, etc.).
-Skilled at zeroing in on nuanced differences in lighting or color that require localized adjustments.
-Open to back-and-forth communication, feedback, and a long-term collaborative relationship.
-Experience with Boudoir or Portrait Photography
-Reliable Communication & Availability
Workflow
Our current workflow is to edit the session in Lightroom, and once complete, do finishing touches with skin in Evoto. You do not have to know how to use evoto, that is definitely something that you can learn pretty easily. For efficiency, we are no longer retouching the skin or skin tone in Lightroom. We do not use photoshop and are not looking to use it either.
Test Project
If selected as a potential fit, we will provide you with a Lightroom catalog containing anchor images. You will edit a few sample photos and then see what you do with the rest. Please note that this test is non-commercial and for evaluation only. Please let us know if you have a rate for this.
How to Apply
-Share examples of relevant editing work. If you have before/after samples or can describe your editing workflow, even better.
-Briefly explain why you’re a great fit, how you handle feedback, and how you ensure confidentiality.
-Let us know you have a private workspace and fully understand the importance of non-disclosure in boudoir photography.
-Let us know your rate per photo
We look forward to partnering with an editor who values genuine beauty, precise manual editing, and an openness to collaboration- while never compromising our clients’ natural look. If this resonates with you, please reach out!
