Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am redesigning a website for a US-based stainless steel fabrication shop, and I need 9-10 total graphics (one for each page). I'd like to focus on the homepage graphic to start which needs to look like the included concept graphics attached. This brief focuses on that first deliverable, but for the designer with the winning style, there is a secondary larger second deliverable that's needed.
The graphic/illustration portrays an industrial worker holding a piece of sheet metal using a propoganda style art that is charactarized by a simple, solid color palette, and bold, simple, designs. It's focus is to convey the message: "We give a sheet!" The 5 colors we want used are: #000000, #FFFFFF, #B0B0B0, #EB0000, & #007EA8. The attached images portray the character with a serious facial expression, but a wry smile facial expression might be an better alternative. The graphic should include a 'Made in America' emblem somewhere in the graphic. A Google search yields many variations of that logo, so it should be able to be adapted to fit the retro-propaganda style. The logo size and location are variations we could explore. The character should be about 1/3 of the width of the graphic from the left side of the graphic. That means his entire torso is visible, and not cut-off by the edge of the graphic (as attached samples do.) Since this will be used for a homepage banner, the left & right edges need to be a solid color so the site content can be centered, and the responsive side-columns can use the same color to give the impression of the graphic expanding to meet the edge. I'm not sure what colors would be best for our website gutters. Black, grey and white would be more website traditional, but since we're going for a 'Made in America' vibe I could also see the left gutter of the website being red and the right being blue. These color variations would be variations I would like to explore. The graphic needs to be 1200 pixels wide by 500 pixels tall.
This is the first graphic of about 10 total needed, so I'm hoping to find someone who knocks this style out of the park, and then I've got a queue of work behind it. I have a budget of $500 total for the 10 graphics. I am skewing the budget toward this first, keystone deliverable homepage banner illustration at $100, but in reality the intention is for this to be a $500 project, and that second tranche wouldn't go to bid, but would go straight to you. The other graphics would be smaller than this home-page graphic.
