Job Title: Print-Ready Book Files Correction for 4 Titles (Urgent Turnaround)
Description:
We are seeking an experienced print production specialist or book designer with Adobe InDesign and print file preparation experience to finalize four book titles for professional printing. Files have already been designed but require corrections based on our printer’s preflight report.
The work must be completed with a quick turnaround (preferably within 3-4 days of project acceptance).
Scope of Work:
General:
Review and correct four book interior and cover files based on the attached preflight report and screenshots.
Ensure all files meet professional print standards (CMYK color, 300dpi images, correct trim and bleed, correct text alignment, spine placement, barcode placement, etc.).
Final files must be resupplied in print-ready PDF format using printer-provided templates for covers.
1. Autobiography Narratives
Confirm correct trim size: text size is 180mm x 255mm, but cover is 280mm x 216mm – determine which is accurate.
Convert interior from RGB to CMYK.
Replace low-res black line graphic (150dpi) with high-res (300dpi minimum).
Ensure “Printed in the China” is included on the copyright page.
2. Buffalo Book
Finalize the document at 44 pages (multiples of 4 for print); remove excess blank pages.
Add ISBN number to copyright page (will be provided).
Add barcode to back cover.
Correct low-res images (currently 200dpi) throughout.
Address inconsistent color edge on image of page 24.
Add spine to the cover design.
Verify folios (page numbers) are correctly placed and consistent.
3. Clifford Book
Confirm final trim size as 152.4mm x 228.6mm (disregard earlier version at 158.75mm x 234.95mm).
Add “Printed in China” to copyright page.
Convert all RGB images and text to CMYK and 1c black where appropriate.
Correct specific issues:
Page 4: inconsistent black/gray lines.
Page 10: folio is low-res image (150dpi).
Page 31: folio misaligned.
Page 34: image dots are only 150dpi.
Pages 51 and 58: low-res images (150dpi).
4. Title 4 Textbook
Adjust cover: barcode must not be in the gutter.
Replace low-res images throughout (many under 300dpi).
Convert 4c black text to 1c black for consistency.
Page corrections:
Pages 144–158 (every even page): blue block present but no folio — verify if folios should be added.
Pages 22, 38, 48, 68, 106, 138: incomplete blue blocks with white text — verify and correct.
Cover fix: black line under title on front cover must reach the spine.
