Traditional Ethnic Wear Designer

Job ID: 40050745

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

I’m putting together a fresh, traditional line of Indian women’s wear and need you to steer the creative process end-to-end. The collection will cover sarees, lehengas, and suits, all rooted firmly in classic aesthetics—think rich floral and geometric jaals, subtle religious symbols, heritage weaves, and artisanal embellishment work.

Here’s what I’ll rely on you for: developing mood boards and themes, sketching or CAD-rendering every piece, recommending fabrics, colours, and surface techniques, and then guiding each style through sampling into production. You should be comfortable choosing silks, georgettes, organza, brocades, and matching them with hand-embroidery, zari, or print placements that stay true to our traditional brief.

We’ll review each stage together, but the day-to-day liaison with pattern masters and karigars will be yours, so a practical understanding of drape, fall, and finishing standards is essential. Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, or any similar fashion-design software will help speed up approvals; feel free to mix in hand sketches when that communicates texture or detailing better.

Deliverables (in milestones):
• Concept & colour story boards
• Detailed design sheets for every saree, lehenga, and suit
• Fabric/trim swatch references with sourcing notes
• Complete tech packs with measurements, embroidery layouts, and finishing specs
• Two sampling rounds per style, including fit and embellishment checks
• Final production-ready files and handover notes

If this sounds like your wheelhouse, let’s create a collection that celebrates tradition while standing out on today’s racks.
