Technical Diagrams Redraw for Engineering Textbook

Job ID: 39820998

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Project Overview
I am authoring a technical engineering textbook and need professional technical diagrams redrawn in a clean, vector style suitable for print and e-book formats. The diagrams are primarily thermodynamic cycles (Rankine, reheat, regenerative nuclear power cycles, OTEC, geothermal, solar thermal, boiler circulation, atomizers, air heaters, turbine state lines, etc.).

The source material includes existing reference schematics and detailed technical descriptions. Some current diagrams are low-quality scans or stock images that need to be redrawn accurately.

Scope of Work

Redraw 15–20 technical diagrams in a consistent style.

Deliver in vector format (AI, SVG, EPS, or PDF) suitable for textbook printing.

Maintain engineering accuracy while using a clear, simplified style for students.

Apply consistent color coding (e.g., steam = orange, water/condensate = blue, feedwater heaters = teal, turbines = gray).

Label components (e.g., “HP Heater,” “LP Heater,” “Moisture Separator,” “Deaerator”) clearly and consistently.

For cycle diagrams: include arrows showing flow direction and numbered states where appropriate.

For comparative diagrams (e.g., atomizers, air heaters): create side-by-side schematics or tables rather than multiple redundant images.

Examples of Figures Needed

Rankine Cycle with boiler, turbine, condenser, pump.

Regenerative-Reheat Nuclear Cycle (with five heaters and drain routing).

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) schematic.

Geothermal Binary Cycle and Kalina Cycle schematic.

Solar thermal systems (parabolic trough and central receiver).

Boiler circulation (natural, forced, once-through).

Mechanical/steam/air atomizers (comparative chart).

Regenerative vs. recuperative air heaters.

Turbine construction details (rotor, blade roots).

Mollier diagram with turbine state line (ideal vs. actual).

Requirements

Experience with technical illustration or engineering schematics.

Familiarity with mechanical/thermodynamic systems preferred.

Ability to follow detailed technical descriptions for accuracy.

Deliver files in editable vector format plus export to high-res PNG.

Deliverables

Final diagrams in vector format (AI/SVG/EPS/PDF).

Exported PNG versions (300 dpi).

Consistent style guide (color codes, line thickness, font).

Timeline & Budget

Target: 15–20 figures within 2 weeks.

Please provide a per-diagram quote and examples of previous technical illustrations. Example of images I need redrawn are attached
