Startup Women’s Apparel Designer

My new women’s-wear label is moving from idea to first collection, and I need fresh, culturally-rooted design work to make it happen. The range centres on kurti sets, relaxed shirts and graphic tees, blending everyday comfort with India’s rich textile heritage.

Scope of work
You will translate broad mood-board directions into ready-for-production design packages. Each style should marry contemporary silhouettes with traditional techniques—embroidery, appliqué, weaving motifs or any other craft you feel will elevate the garment. A strong command of fabrics (drape, fall, hand-feel, cost implication) is essential so that suggested materials align with mass-production realities.

Key expectations
• Original sketches or digital flats (Adobe Illustrator / CorelDRAW) for every approved look
• Colourways and print/embellishment placements referencing authentic cultural elements
• Fabric and trim recommendations with sourcing notes
• Optional swatch or stitch-out guidance for embroidery or appliqué layouts
• Tech packs clear enough for a sampling unit to follow without back-and-forth

Acceptance criteria
A design is complete when the tech pack, artwork files and material sheet together let a sample master cut, stitch and finish the piece exactly as envisioned.
