Retro Nautical Logo Design

We’re looking for a talented logo designer to help bring our new brand, Sankaty Supply Co, to life.
Brand name: Sankaty Supply Co
Slogan: Born Beneath the Beam.
Sankaty Supply Co is inspired by the Sankaty Head Lighthouse on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts — one of the island’s most recognizable landmarks. The brand will focus on creating apparel and lifestyle goods that capture the spirit of Nantucket: coastal, timeless, and authentic.
We’re after a logo that feels local and handcrafted, not overly corporate or polished — something you’d see on a Nantucket surf hat, an old boatyard sign, or a worn-in tee that becomes a favorite. The design should balance clean simplicity with a nod to heritage and craftsmanship.
This logo will represent the full identity of the brand — from hang tags and woven labels to signage and embroidered hats — so versatility is important. We also will be looking for designer for shirt design illustrations in the same style!
Deliverables I’m expecting:
– Primary logo and one-line or stacked variant
– Simplified badge or icon derived from the primary artwork
– Editable vector files (AI/SVG), web formats (PNG, JPG), and color/mono versions
– Brief style guide outlining typefaces and color values so my production partners can stay consistent
