Original Cartoon Children’s Illustrations
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have a series of children’s books ready for the next step and need a dedicated illustrator who can bring a fresh, unmistakably original look to every page. The visual direction is clearly cartoonish with a bright, colourful palette. Expect to draw a lively mix of animal, insect, and human characters—each with expressive faces and a sense of playful movement that keeps young readers engaged.
Every stroke must be your own: no AI-generated elements, no stock assets. Hand-drawn or digitally painted work created in tools such as Procreate, Adobe Illustrator, or Photoshop is perfect, provided the final files are layered, 300 dpi, and suitable for both CMYK print and RGB digital use.
To start, I’d like:
• One full-bleed spread (around 11" × 8.5", 300 dpi)
• One cover illustration with a title placeholder
• Source files plus flattened, print-ready PDFs
• A brief style guide—palette notes and quick character turnarounds—to keep everything consistent across the books
Once we lock in the style on this first milestone, we’ll move through the remaining pages book by book. Share samples of previous children’s work that highlight your unique touch and let me know your typical turnaround for a spread so we can map out a realistic schedule for the entire series.
