ABOUT THE ROLE
VELARO is a modern men’s fashion brand focused on trendy, premium-looking yet affordable apparel inspired by leading D2C brands such as Snitch and The Souled Store, with pricing positioned below H&M.
We are looking for a skilled Freelance Fashion Designer with strong knowledge of current men’s fashion trends and hands-on experience in creating manufacturer-ready tech packs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design trendy men’s apparel aligned with market demand and brand positioning
Create complete, production-ready tech packs for manufacturers, including:
Flat sketches (front and back)
Colorways (minimum 5 colors per style)
Fabric details (GSM, composition)
Stitching and construction details
Measurement specifications using provided size charts
Trims, labels, and accessories details
Print or embroidery placement (where applicable)
Work across multiple categories:
T-Shirts (Regular, Oversized, Graphic)
Polo T-Shirts
Casual and Formal Shirts
Airport / Overshirts
Jeans (Straight, Baggy, Relaxed)
Cargo Pants
Formal Trousers
Plus Size (2XL–6XL)
Ensure designs are suitable for Indian body types and current fashion trends
Incorporate feedback from manufacturers and sampling teams
Maintain accuracy and clarity so factories can sample without confusion
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of experience in men’s fashion design
Strong understanding of Indian and global men’s fashion trends
Proven experience in creating tech packs for apparel manufacturers
Knowledge of garment construction, fit, and basic pattern principles
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or similar tools
Experience working directly with manufacturers and production teams
Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills
DELIVERABLES
Tech pack PDFs ready for manufacturing
Editable source files (AI / PSD) if required
Measurement and specification sheets (Excel or PDF)
Color and fabric references
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (GOOD TO HAVE)
Experience working with D2C men’s fashion brands
Familiarity with Indian garment manufacturers
Knowledge of cost-effective fabric and trim selection
Understanding of e-commerce fashion requirements
PAYMENT AND ENGAGEMENT
Payment structure: Per tech pack, per collection, or monthly retainer
Compensation based on experience and scope of work
Potential for long-term collaboration
