I need a single, publication-ready technical diagram that clearly visualises my materials-science mechanisms (schematics of porous microstructures and coatings) and results for an upcoming top-tier technical journal article. The figure should sit comfortably in a peer-reviewed layout, so accuracy matters more than decorative flair. I will supply the raw data, axis titles and a rough sketch of the layout; your task is to turn that into a clean, easy-to-read illustration with moderate detail and a few concise labels that highlight the key findings without overcrowding the page.

Please work in a vector format—Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape or similar—so the editors can scale the figure without loss of quality. Colour choices should remain print-friendly (CMYK safe) and legible in greyscale, as many readers will print the PDF.
